A "taipan" is a successful businessman, a community leader and a philanthropist. For a taipan to succeed, he needs to ensure the success of his community as well. Lui Khang, the company's founder, achieves his business success by applying the same philosophy. He believes that every individual and business needs a "taipan" to enrich lives and improve businesses. He refers to this belief beyond the material and tangible, but simply, of empowerment. Technology is the means, right now. Specifically, mobile-web technologies. With this vision, Mobile Taipan was founded in 2006, to lead the development and shape the new generation of (mobile) web utility.

From a two-men outfit in 2006, the company has since grown from strength to strength into a team of 50 staff in two offices, Singapore and Ho Chi Minh.
